You know I’m always going to sneak in some true crime drama whenever I can.

In this case, it is a Hulu limited series based on the case of Conrad “Coco” Roy III (played by Colton Ryan), A Teenager Who Was Tragically Encouraged To End His Life by Michelle Carter (Elle Fanning).

Knowing how it all happens (if you’ve followed real-life headlines) doesn’t necessarily take away from the tragic weirdness of it all.

“The Girl From Plainville” is currently streaming.

something to sip

Will Smith (right) slaps Chris Rock (left) on stage during the 94th Academy Awards show at the Dolby Theater on March 27 in Hollywood, California.
Don’t think there’s much left to say about this “the slap” At this year’s Academy Awards, but I’ll offer this: The whole thing felt less about Jada Pinkett Smith and more about Will Smith.
Yes, the beloved actor took to the stage to hit Chris Rock after he was mocked by the comedian pinkett smith shaved head (He suffers from alopecia), but in his tearful acceptance speech, moments after the event, when Smith won his first Oscar, I saw a man defend his wife.
I saw the young boy about whom Smith wrote in his memoir felt unable to protect his mother from an abusive relationship, And, in this, I think there is a lesson for all of us that if we don’t deal with our trauma, it can reappear and cause harm to others and ourselves.

This is not an excuse or pass, just a reminder that we all have baggage.
