This August 25 Danna Paola premiered the video of his most recent single, the theme XT4S1Swhich quickly racked up thousands of views on YouTube and hundreds of comments found.

And it is that the song with which the Mexican artist is experimenting with an electropop sound, moving away from the urban genre, has been pointed out by some as an incitement to the consumption of synthetic drugs.

The name of the song, a cryptic way of naming “ecstasy”, together with the promotional video, where we see the singer-songwriter living a wild night out surrounded by extravagant charactershas fueled this controversy.

The 27-year-old artist was questioned about this, who, somewhat uncomfortable, responded to the question that if she does not think she is challenging censorship with her new song.

“We talk about the crazy party, the crazy night. But ecstasy is a state of mind, friend, I invite you to google it. Me I have no responsibility for what you interpret. I am expressing my artas I already said, for me it’s my version of my candy worldfor me music is a drug very addictive and this is my representation of what generates me and the world in which I live, ”replied the famous person who questioned her at the press conference to present the video clip.

Danna was forceful in making it clear that the song she co-authored with her boyfriend Alex Hoyer is also an invitation to experience the senses intensely and to get away from taboos.

“The i’m inviting into my worldis this, is the party, the delight, the no taboos. I’m sick of taboos, friends, really, of just this, to be afraid of the word ecstasy. Friend, I invite you to live every day in this stateit’s amazing and stop worrying about what other people think or what they’re going to think.

Regarding the video in which Danna Paola participated as creative director, where scenes alluding to the consumption of some substance clearly appear, the artist said that she is finally telling a story.

“I think that beyond that, I am also an actress and I also create stories and I also write a lot and that is exactly what this video clip represents, it is the auditory journey that is the song, the sensory journey that the video clip generates for you, the five senses. I play with it a lot.”

The interpreter defended her point by expressing that the word that gives her song its name can have the meanings that each person gives it and does not necessarily link it to some type of consumption. She also assured that she is not inciting the public to anything in particular.

“In the PR Kit that we sent, there was a palo santo to cleanse just these bad energies that are around and these little guesses about how conservative a word can be And it depends on where you pigeonhole it.

“I’m not inciting anything. It goes further, the word ecstasy is strong at the moment you hear it, but when you live it in a feeling and in a state of mind… When you change the concept of things and really take them from the side that they are and not on the negative side, that’s when everything changes.”

To close the topic, the artist stressed that each person has free will.

“I think it’s not about inciting anyone, everyone is free to do what they want in their life. I am an artist and my way of representing music and an auditory and sensory journey and freedom of expression in a place where these things do not exist”.
