Yes, the Moon Knight Writer Tried to Get the "You Big F-ing Nerd" Meme Reference on the Show

Long before Moon Knight found himself as one of the major heroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he found himself at the root of memes. There’s one where the vigilante can be seen tossing all kinds of random weapons toward an off-panel threat, shouting “Random Bullsh-t Go!” Then there’s the one where Khonshu’s fist shakes off Dracula, the “big f—ing nerd” in hopes of getting some money.

Moon Knight Writer Jeremy Slater tells us that he tried very hard to get a reference to a later moment in the series, but Disney+ didn’t have the F-bomb.

“I tried so hard. The problem is you can’t say f—ck on Disney+. And so you either have to have a really weird slumber where something goes right when they say,” Slater tells us. “But it also felt like he recreated any part of that meme, but not the part that people loved the most, which is an unfair curse. It was shining a spotlight on the fact that We could not curse.”

For those who want to see the memes come to life in the live-action series, fret not. Slater thinks that where there is a will, there is a way.

“I still think some of them are ways to get memes,” the author. “I’ve also said on the record that I’d love to see Mood Knight go after Dracula at some point. And Blade may have staked that area, no pun intended, but look, if Moon Knight goes after Dracula, so I can assure you that someone will work that meme out there somewhere.”

Moon Knight Now streaming entirely on Disney+.
