This Friday the 13th Marathon telecast on AMC on Friday

This coming Friday is the first and only Friday of 2022 in which AMC celebrated the occasion by broadcasting the marathon Friday the 13 movies throughout the day. With 12 movies released for the series so far, viewers will be treated to just seven installments, though the marathon will feature several fan-favorite chapters from the saga. Of course, as with film series with copious amounts of violence and nudity, AMC broadcasts will certainly omit some elements of each adventure, but potentially for anyone who still works from home, all day at AMC A great way would be to embrace the tuning. Holiday feeling all day long.

The marathon schedule is as follows:

  • 10:01 am ET – Friday the 13th: Final Chapter
  • 12 noon ET – Friday the 13th Part Eighth: Jason Takes Manhattan
  • 2 p.m. ET – Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood
  • 4 p.m. ET – Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives
  • 6 p.m. ET – Friday the 13 (1980)
  • 8 a.m. ET – Friday the 13th Part 2
  • 10 p.m. ET – Friday the 13th Part 3

Given that the entire franchise has stagnated since the release of a reboot in 2008, re-watching the original films is the best way for audiences to keep the Jason Voorhees spirit alive.

Throughout the ’80s, the franchise earned an astounding eight installments, all of which landed in theaters as the slasher series dominated all of pop culture. Sadly, after the final installment in the franchise, a lawsuit was filed between the original writer and the original director, preventing any future films from being developed.

In the late ’70s, director Sean S. Cunningham bought the title “Friday the 13th” and hired Victor Miller to write the script, which kicked off one of the most famous franchises in horror history. For more than 40 years, Cunningham has been receiving the rewards of owning the franchise, with Miller seeking the rights to the series, noting that he created many of the more notable components of the franchise.

Last December, a ruling in favor of Miller and his rights to the original script was revealed, though there have been few updates in recent months about whether we might ever get another installment in the franchise.

Stay tuned for details about the future of Friday the 13 Voting.
