James Bond producer Barbara Broccoli says the next installment in the franchise will be a “reconstruction” of the character. Deadline managed to interview the producer outside an event honoring his work in art. Broccoli explained that the next James Bond is two years or more away from filming. Fans can either take that news well or be disappointed with such admission. However, the 007 team is trying to get all its ducks in a row no time to die, Daniel Craig isn’t walking through that door again. So, there has to be some fresh blood in the role, whatever it may be. As social media often does, fans began to make their own choices about who should wear the tuxedo next. Some want to see her go with Tom Hiddleston, others want Idris Elba to be given a shot. Tom Hardy and Holland have also arrived. But, nothing is certain at the moment.
“No one is in the running,” she revealed. “We’re working out where to go with that, we’re talking that through. There’s no script and we can’t come up with one until we’ve decided that we’re going to do the next film.” How’s going to watch, because really, it’s a new invention of Bond. We’re rediscovering who he is and it takes time. I’d say filming is at least two years away.”
In a recent interview with Variety, Daniel Craig revealed how much he didn’t enjoy contracts. At the end of his term as 007, he . Insisted on deciding the fate of the character at the end of no time to die,
Craig told the publication, “I’m going to tell a story here, whether anyone remembers it or agrees. But that’s 2006.” ,[Producer] Barbara [Broccoli] And I was in the back of a car driving away from the Berlin premiere of casino Royale, Everything was going well. People liked the film. And it looked like I was going to get a chance to make at least one more film. I said to Barbara, ‘How many of these films do I have to make?’ Because I don’t really look at contracts or any of that. And he said, ‘Four,’ and I went, ‘Oh, right. Can I kill him one last time?’ And she didn’t stop. she said yes.’ So I made a deal with him and said, ‘That’s how I want it to go.’ It was the only way I could see myself putting an end to it all and it was my tenure to make it so, someone else could have come and taken it. She stuck to her guns.”
