Songbirds & Snakes ballad reveals more tributes and mentors in cast

The Hunger Games Prequel Film ballad of songbirds and snakes has revealed a new set of actors who will play the roles of tributes and mentors in the film. Nick Benson, Laurel Marsden, Lily Cooper, Luna Steeple, and Hiroki Berrecloth join the cast of Lionsgate’s The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, opposite Tom Blyth and Rachel Ziegler.

Benson will play Jessup, with Lucy Gray Baird in Ziegler’s tribute from District 12; Marsden will play Mayfair Lip, who puts Lucy Gray’s name in contention for the tenth Hunger Games; Cooper will play the role of Arachne Crane, the custodian of a tribute from District 10; Dill will play stairs, tribute from District 11; And the bareclothes will play Treach, a tribute from District 7.”

The studio recently announced that as The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes debuts in theaters worldwide on November 17, 2023, moviegoers will return to The Hunger Games, the landmark film franchise that has hit a global level. Suzanne Collins, Tim Pallen and Jim Miller will serve as executive producers.

The latest draft of the screenplay is by Michael Leslie (Macbeth, starring Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard, and Assassin’s Creed). Leslie is based on the work of writers Susan Collins and Michael Arndt (OscarĀ®-winning screenwriter for Little Miss Sunshine, as well as serving as one of the authors of Catching Fire). The screenplay is based on Collins’ best-selling novel.

Meredith Wieck and Scott O’Brien are overseeing on behalf of the studio.

Nick Benson (Jessup) graduated from the University of Southern California in 2021 with a BFA in Acting for Screen, Stage and New Media. Since graduating he has filmed recurring roles in Netflix’s “Boo, Bitch” and Disney+’s “Big Shot.” He is represented by SMS Talent and Untitled Entertainment.

Laurel Marsden (Mayfair Lip) can currently be seen playing the role of Zoe Zimmer in Disney+’s Marvel series “Miss Marvel”. The Zimmer character made her debut in 2014’s Ms. Marvel No. 3. She recently completed production on All Fun and Games opposite Asa Butterfield and Natalia Dyer. Marsden previously starred in Quibi’s “Survival” alongside Sophie Turner and Corey Hawkins. He is represented by Encompass and Zero Gravity Management.

Lily Cooper (Arachne Crane) is an English actress. He trained at Identity School of Acting in London. Credits include the role of Murthy in “The Witcher” series 1 and 2. At 23, she is represented by the Identity Agency group.

Luna Staples (Dill) is an outstanding young artist with a courageous, outgoing and fearless personality and maturity beyond her years. His mother, Paola Menacho, is from Bolivia, and his father, Eddie Steeple, is from St. Louis, Missouri. Luna grew up speaking both English and Spanish and is celebrating the diversity of her family. Luna’s family is philanthropic and supports St. Jude Children’s Hospital and The Alexandria House for Women and Children, which help create spaces, jobs and friendships where all people can thrive. They are represented by Jackson Entertainment Management (JEM) and Scherziniarz & Meulen.

HIROKI BERRECLOTH (TREACH) BBC’s “Red Rose” and the short films Black Lichen, The Intruder, and Why Do You Look at Me with the Eyes? has appeared in. He is currently pursuing acting while studying a science degree at the university. She is passionate about the representation of Southeast Asian people in media and film, and aims to one day establish a stage or production company that will help develop SEA artists and promote SEA narratives. For now though, he’s a regular student who relaxes by reading manga and skating with peers. He is represented by Simon & How.

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes will hit theaters on November 17, 2023.
