Sizzling and well-done, the first trailer for The Bob’s Burgers Movie is here

A Just a few weeks ago, American actor Jay Johnston confessed to his involvement in the attempted coup / insurgency on January 6 last year, which was a blow to fans of his show Mr. Show televised and his current concert, the entertainment institution Bob’s Burgers. The producers of the show have announced that his character, blowing him next door Jimmy Pesto, will not appear in any new episodes during the current 12th season due to these disturbing accusations.

Indeed, the new trailer for the long-delayed and almost arrived Bob’s Burgers film has arrived without any appearance from Jimmy Pesto. But it’s still the same show that viewers have come to know and love over the past decade and more, as its big-screen iteration looks a lot like one big episode of this truncated form of advertising.

Taking the general approach last seen in The Simpsons’ foray into theaters, this vehicle for the Belcher clan – Bob (H. Jon Benjamin) and Linda (John Roberts), with children Tina (Dan Mintz), Gene (Eugene Mirman) and Louise (Kristen Schaal) – raises the stakes by treating restorers with an existential threat that could destroy everything they worked to build. In that case, it would be a huge chasm opening up right outside their humble burger shack, knocking out their prospects of a profitable summer.

The young people take it upon themselves to save the day by looking for the unnatural forces that may have pushed the earth to open its mouth at their door, a “comedy-mystery-adventure” which will cross their paths with many beloved tertiary characters: Teddy, a lonely lunch regular, Jimmy Pesto Jr., Tina’s nasal-voice crush, brother owners Calvin and Felix Fishoeder, hanged dog cop Sgt. Bosco, and surely many others. And it wouldn’t be Bob’s Burgers without a generous helping of musical numbers; nice to see the kids’ dream rock band reunite, with Tina back in her afro-and-sunglasses combo.

It’s been almost two years since this film’s originally slated July 2020 release date, its production process slowed down by the COVID-19 pandemic and the challenges of remote recording. But as anyone who’s enjoyed the perfect cheeseburger can tell you, good things take as long as they take, and they’re always worth the wait.

Bob’s Burgers will be released in theaters across the UK and US on May 27.
