Rise of the Beasts photos reveal new designs for Optimus Primal and Bumblebee

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts The fan-favorite Transformers: Beast Wars is turning the series into a live-action movie. Beast Wars introduced some now-iconic versions of Transformers characters into the mix, with the two key figures being (as always) Optimus Primal and Megatron. Naturally, Beast Wars fans are extremely curious about how Paramount and director Steven Capel Jr. (Creed II) are bringing these characters to life in live-action. Well, thanks to some early sales for Rise of the Beasts, we’ve got a great look at what Optimus Primal looks like:

Merchandising Art (via) all spark news) also reveals the familiar face of the bumblebee in the mix. Steven Capel Jr. last teased the lineup of Transformers characters rise of animals (Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Mirage, Arcee, Wheeljack, Scourge and Nightbird); How we go from these vehicular-powered Autobots to “maximals” (remains to be seen.

As far as Optimus Primal is concerned: the toy mask that transforms into an action figure, and the merchant artwork give us a good sense of what this version of Optimus Prime will look like. l This is a design that is fairly faithful to the original character design, down to the color scheme. The artwork also confirms that Primal will still be packing that giant two-gun cannon on each arm. You should always reserve judgment until the live-action design is revealed… but this design is (conceptually) on the right track.

The plot of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will take Bumblebee’s rebooted franchise timeline to 1994 Brooklyn, where “a pair of Brooklyn archaeologists come to life through a globe-trotting adventure into an ancient conflict between three factions of the Transformers”. Joins with: Maximals, Predacons and Terracons.”

Longtime Transformers filmmaker Lorenzo Di Bonaventura explained to the press that Rise of the Beasts will give the Transformers movies a much-needed show spark of new life:

“We wanted to give the audience something very new,” explained Lorenzo di Bonaventura. “We are tired of, I would say, the battle between the Autobots and the Decepticons. How do we find the villains and a new set of priorities, the Autobots to save the world, and in this case the Maxims are left. Part of the new news, If you’ve seen other movies, you’re going to see villains you’ve never seen before and a lot of elements that we’ve never seen before.”

Steven Capel Jr teases the big new element this film has to offer:

“We wanted to expand the universe. You have the Autobots and the Decepticons, and I would say my new nature is Terracon,” Capel explained. “The Terracons are a new threat to Optimus Prime… You bring in the nostalgia fans want, but also something they’re not expecting, and Terracons are just that.”

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts It is expected to debut in theaters on June 9, 2023. this will be the first of a new transformer movie trilogy,
