Gomez’s performance as America Chavez has earned many accolades – something the actress has graced in the best possible way.
Gomez said in an interview, “I mean, just looking at America’s reaction and seeing how much people love her and want to see more of her, and the fact that people are cosplaying her, that’s very. is crazy.” comicbook.com‘s phase zero podcast,
“I mean it’s all, I wasn’t ready for it because I didn’t know what it was going to be or if people were going to like the character,” Gomez continued. “I just hoped that people would really like the character. That was the main thing. But I mean, it’s a result of how much people come up to me and tell me that it means so much to them.” I am on screen and that I am their representative there and also that they can see themselves on screen with me, which is so important. And I am just so happy that I got to do this for them. And Also, just the fact that some girls are like this, they tremble when they see me, and some of them don’t even want a photo or they forget to ask for a photo. And so, I will be like, Do you want to take a photo? We can take a photo and they just want to hug me. It’s so cute. I’m so glad I can be there for young girls, you know?”
