Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness Now running in theatres, it has a successful first week at the box office. The film currently has a score of 75% of critics. rotten Tomatoes and 87% audience score. comicbook.comKey Jenna Anderson gave the film a 4 out of 5 and called it “an inventive, outrageous twist to the MCU”. The sequel sees the return of Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlett Witch, and more. However, becoming a Marvel star isn’t always easy. Olsen recently admitted the new York Times That MCU contracts can sometimes be taken away from other acting gigs. Olsson was ready for a role in Yorgos Lanthimos’ prawn fish back in 2015 and says losing the role was “heartbreaking”. She said, “I was in a contract [for Marvel] I couldn’t get out. So it didn’t work out.”
“I started feeling disappointed,” Olsen said of losing roles because of the MCU. “I had this job security but I was losing these pieces that I thought were more of a part of my being. And the further I got away from it, the less I was considered for.”
Olsen has been a major part of the MCU for more than seven years, but the development of Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch didn’t really take off until wandavision was released last year. comicbook.com Recently spoke with Olsson and asked how it’s been like to see her character grow through so many genres in so much time.
“I mean, it’s a ride I didn’t expect,” Olsson shared. “I just got comfortable taking a lane and showing some color to it and it was helping the story and this movie as a whole. And then wandavisionI want to be all the colors of all the rainbows. It was a wonderful opportunity, but also a wonderful opportunity to be able to remember the playfulness and fail and there is a freedom that we had during filming that has informed me now about how I approach her. and so stay together [Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness]I was before, when I heard, I was like, ‘Actually, we do’ wandavision And then we do this?'”
Olsen continued, “But, she said, I think it was an incredible opportunity to have the audience by her side for seven hours and then throw her into a journey where you could potentially question her. Where is she coming from. And I really had a great time developing her and her power and building her acceptance and confidence in who she was, and that was informing her decision making. and Then I’m always with Sam [Raimi], we were always trying to go back to find his humanity through him as well. And so it was a fun line to divide.”
