Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness officially hit the theatres, and has been rocking the past two weeks. The film was both a critical and financial success and it is all due to the cast, crew and director Sam Raimi. Doctor Strange The sequel was initially supposed to be directed by the director of the first film, Scott Derrickson, until he and Marvel Studios parted ways due to creative differences. The director is once again talking about opting out of the film, as he calls it “the toughest decision of my career”. Derrickson recently sat down with Empire Magazine (via) Sify) to discuss his new film, black phoneAnd he also speaks on all the rumors surrounding his departure.
“Contrary to gossip, it was all really cordial [when I left] And I’ll work there again,” said Derrickson. “I’m going to the premiere [of Multiverse of Madness] And I’m really looking forward to it, but I think I made the right decision. I have made the film I was supposed to make, when I was supposed to make it.”
Back in 2019, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige announced that the sequel would be the studio’s first horror film when Derrickson was still on board. So it made sense that the studio would tap the horror icon to replace him as the director. Raimi recently teased that the film may not be a complete horror film, but that it will have flavors of horror. Speaking to Fandango, the director clarified the Marvel Studios president’s comments.
“What do I think [Kevin] “From my point of view, it just means that this movie has a horror flavor,” Raimi revealed in the interview. “I think when the original directors, Scott Derrickson and Kevin, promoted the coming of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of the Multiverse. Madness, they said it would be the first Marvel superhero film that had an element of horror. I hope I Not quoting him incorrectly. But even after Scott left the picture due to creative differences, he still had the mandate – to make the first Marvel film that had an element of horror. So, I stick to his original statements “

The film is directed by the legendary Sam Rami and stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, Benedict Wong as Wong, Rachel McAdams as Christine Palmer, Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Professor Charles Xavier as Patrick Stewart will be Xochital Gomez as America Chavez. and Chiwetel Ejiofor as Baron Mordo.
