Doctor Strange 2 originally included a gruesome death scene for the Wasp

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness Introduced a live-action version of the Illuminati to the public, featuring returning characters from other projects such as Patrick Stewart’s Charles Xavier and Anson Mount’s Black Bolt. Other new additions to the supergroup include John Krasinski as Fantastic Four VC Reed Richards and Hayley Atwell’s live-action debut as Captain Carter. That’s not to forget the arrival of Lashana Lynch as Captain Marvel. At one point, the Illuminati also included The Wasp (Evangeline Lilly), although this was eventually cleared from the script.

“Yeah, I think I saw aliens And thinking about the way those marines got slaughtered, and, yeah, I’m glad it worked out.” variety of madness Writer Michael Waldron says during the film’s audio commentary (via) Prima facie) “I think originally, the Wasp was in a version of the Illuminati, and the Wasp shrank and flew into Wanda, and [Wanda] Just clapped his hands and crushed the wasp in the first draft.”

Waldron and Strange producer Richie Palmer was to record commentary, with the latter adding Waldron most certainly to the fence with his script.

“The Jonathan Hickman Illuminati comics were some of the greatest comics ever written, I think those New Avengers comics from the Secret Wars era,” Palmer says. “But, Michael, I remember you read your first draft of Illuminati material and just brought up in disbelief, ‘She kills all the Illuminati? She had her kill all the Illuminati. We’re never going to be able to do that.’ We’re leaving. Wait, can we do this? I wish we could do it.'”

Palmer applauds his masters for not telling them to back down, even though Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch murders the Illuminati in the most brutal of ways possible.

“Yeah, I was so scared someone would tell us we were going too far, and nobody ever did,” the producer continues. “Sam, you always helped us get it there. Kevin always encouraged us to take it further. Our other bosses, Louis D’Esposio, Victoria Alonso, all took every step to take this film forward But supported us.”
