Cosmic Rewind in collaboration with MCU, Marvel Studios

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Marvel is bringing the Cinematic Universe to Walt Disney World’s EPCOT Park, with the new attraction set to open later this month. ComicBook.com attended a preview event for the indoor roller coaster to take a look at all the amazing details it has to offer. The new attraction has footage of Guardians of the Galaxy The characters reprise their roles of Star-Lord, Gamora and Drax, with Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana and Dave Bautista, respectively. Rocket and Groot also go hand in hand with new actors voicing the computerized characters. Disney Imagineers spoke with ComicBook.com in Orlando about the process of collaborating with Marvel Studios.

“We had a wonderful opportunity to join forces with our third film to shoot here,” Christopher Smith, VFX supervisor and creative designer at Disney Imagineering, told ComicBook.com. “So, we have some familiar faces that you’ll see. Peter Quill, Star-Lord, as he likes to be called, and a few others are back and we got to work with that team. So they were all great. . We’ve got a lot of fun things to see here, so many areas of the ride. I don’t want to spoil it. You have to see it.”

Upon arriving at the Wonders of Xander Pavilion, park guests are immersed in this otherworldly world defined by Nova Corps’s technology. “The best part of it is the story from the front door to the end of the coaster,” explained Daniel Joseph, Disney Imagineering’s Principal Special Effects Designer and Illusion Development Lead. “We have almost a feature film here that’s worth the media. So the idea was, how do we put something in every corner for the guests to see and study and learn something about our story. It’s such a gratifying thing for us.” The process was to work with each other, but then to dive into Guardians of the Galaxy, to figure out that story and, ‘Okay, how does Xander play here?’ They came here and brought it all to us. So we’re learning about their technique. We’re learning about their city in the gallery. We learn about our heroes, the Guardians, that they respect because They saved their planet. So it’s a lot of that type of stuff and it’s a lot of fun.”

As far as the Easter egg is concerned, Smith suggests that guests “keep their eyes wide open” during the queue line and the actual attraction. Few Easter eggs are just too exciting for Marvel Comics fans, as is Cosmic Rewind’s gift shop.

The ride itself includes appearances and sounds Guardians of the Galaxy Cast, captured while they were also filming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, The ride has the same intensity as the movies. Families can ride it together, it takes some thrill and laughs, and nothing too crazy ever happens. “I would say we wanted it to be a family coaster, so it’s definitely close space MountainAs far as thrill level goes, but not as much Rock ‘n’ Roller CoasterJoseph explained. “So the height on this, people can go on it and kids who are 42 inches and taller, which is awesome. My seven year old can go on it and enjoy it with me, which is great. “
