Batman Begins writer David S. Goyer reveals his opinion on Batman

Matt Reeves and Robert Pattinson rediscovered the Dark Knight on the big screen with the acclaimed DC film debut earlier this year. Batman, With Pattinson taking on the role of Bruce Wayne, Reeves aimed to tell a kind of Batman story not previously seen in films, focusing on the character’s skills as a detective and making him a terrifying serial killer. to find out. It was Christopher Nolan and Zack Snyder’s massive departure from Batman, but it was well received by both critics and fans as well as a box office success.

It turns out that those involved in those previous Bruce Wayne iterations also brought Reeves to the table with The Batman. David S. Goyer, who wrote Batman BeginsPraised Reeves’ approach to bringing out the detective in Bruce and doing something completely different.

“I think Matt Reeves is a very good filmmaker,” Goyer said. IGN, “I didn’t know what I’d think [Robert] Pattinson but I liked that. And I was like, I buy this. He has a different style. But I buy it. I thought chemistry with Zoe [Kravitz] was amazing. I liked how the noir was and I loved that they went into the detective angle and I loved what they did with The Riddler. I like this.”

Goyer compared all the different scenes for the live-action Batman movies to the way the comics have worked over the years. Each minor iteration or franchise can be viewed as a different comic book run. This idea continues to work as long as the new versions find a way to differentiate themselves from the versions that came before.

“When you read comic books … you read like and run like or like,” Ed Brubaker’s Run On brave,” Goyer continued. “And even after [Brian Michael] Bendis’ and they’re different where you’re like, oh, I love that. Oh, I like that.”

Bringing a wildly different version of Batman to the big screen allows all kinds of different fans to invest in the character at some level. Whenever Reeves and Pattinson are finished, the next team to tackle the character will probably do something that feels like a total of 180 by them.
