Batgirl star Ivory Aquino breaks silence on film cancellation, shares new behind-the-scenes photos

DC fans were in for a shock earlier this week, with confirmation that DC’s bat girl The film has been completely scrapped. The film, which was completed months ago and almost completed, was set to bring several firsts into the ever-expanding world of superhero blockbusters. Among these was the casting of Ivory Aquino as Alicia Yeoh, one of the first openly transgender characters and actors to be brought into the superhero movie space. For the time being, it looks like we won’t get to see Alicia’s portrayal of Aquino which eventually came to life, but the actress took to social media to highlight what would be involved. “Our time in Glasgow was filled with lots of laughter, joy, love, passion and dedication from the amazing crew and close-knit cast,” Acunio’s post reads in part. “Batgirl was truly a labor of love we were excited and eager to share with all of you who have given this inspiring character and unconventionally underrepresented our family the opportunity to share with the world that no one else.
