Disney’s cutest monsters are back. Mike and Sulley return in Monsters at Work, the new Disney + series.
The sequel has been in development for a few years but we finally have news that it will arrive in July. What will be different this time, is that it will be a series, instead of the two previous films: Monsters Inc. and Monsters University.
Actors Billy Crystal and John Goodman return as monster friends Mike and Sulley. Mindy Kaling (The Office) joins them as a new character, Val Little. Little will be an enthusiastic member of the Monsters, Inc. Facilities Team (also known as “MIFT”).
What is Monsters at Work about?
Monsters At Work begins the day after the Monsters Incorporated power plant begins harvesting children’s laughter to fuel the city of Monstropolis. This thanks to the discovery of Mike and Sulley, that laughter generates ten times more energy than screaming.
The series follows the story of Tylor Tuskmon, an eager young monster who graduated top of his class from Monsters University. Tuskmon always dreamed of becoming a scarer until he gets a job at Monsters, Incorporated, and discovers that fear has been changed by laughter.
Tylor is temporarily reassigned to the Monsters, Inc. Facilities Team (MIFT). He must work alongside a group of misfit mechanics, while setting the goal of becoming a prankster.
