Melrose placethe cast members are gathering in Fantasy island! Laura Leighton, Josie Bissett and Daphne Zuniga to team up for Fox’s Fantasy island reboot, ET can exclusively reveal.
The episode, which will air in September, is titled “The Big Five Oh” and sees old friends Nettie (Leighton), Camille (Bissett) and Margot (Zuniga) come to the island to celebrate their 50th birthday, but their fantasies expose fault lines in their friendship.
The actresses are all smiles in ET’s exclusive photo from the set, nearly 30 years later. Melrose place first released in 1992.
Bellamy Young will also be the guest star in another episode of the Fantasy island restart. While guest co-host on Thursday’s ET Baha Mar Resort, the actress expressed her enthusiasm for the new series.
“The new Fantasy island It has been envisioned, in the first place, to include more stories, ”he said.[It’s] a very specific lens on the old Fantasy island but it’s also a bit sexier, it’s a bit darker, it has a bit of a broader set of rules. ”
Fantasy island premieres Aug. 10 on Fox.
In a 2019 interview with ET, Zuniga opened up about the possibility of a Melrose place reunion series, to the BH90210.
“You would never say no to good material if it was good, right?” she shared. “I’m curious to see how this [new] 90210 comes out. I keep in touch with some of the actors [from Melrose Place] and we enjoy the company of others. I’d be totally open to that. I still talk to Laura Leighton, Courtney Thorne-Smith and Grant [Show], so we would have to see who and what were the stories. But yes, I would be open to it. “
Weather Fantasy island Offering fans a chance to see the cast members perform together once again, the cast also had a virtual reunion last year for the Actors Fund.
“Of course we stayed in touch over the years, but we recently reconnected and it’s been great to have these friends that we had when we were 20 years old,” Leighton told ET last April. “A lot has happened with our careers and our lives, but we stayed in touch and it’s been great to have reasons to come together and catch up on everything we have to do. It’s nice to go down memory lane.”
“For me it was a long-term family,” Zúñiga reflected on his time on the series. “I remember being there and the familiarity. Riding motorcycles on weekends together, and I think we used to do Pilates with Laura. I just remember the family part, which was really cool, and it was a time when we didn’t have phones. I think we would go to the mall in between hours. “
