Mama June’s Joy Ever is trending on TV, but it’s not all rainbows and butterflies. In an exclusive clip from ET Mama June: Road to Redemption, June explains how she loves Justin — but she’s not ready to say those three words just yet.
The clip begins with June showing Justin’s new trailer home in Georgia, where daughters Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson and Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon live and Pumpkin’s husband, Joshua Efford. Jun explains that he is taking this step as an attempt to be close to the girls and show them that she will be around when he needs them.
“I want to show them I’m established,” June tells the cameras. “I want them to know that I am here and that I am going to be here.”
As June shows the production teams around her new home, a camera person asks if she is “in love” with Justin, to which she smiles and quickly replies, “Yes.”
At that point, Justin enters the room and June tells him that she has just admitted that she loves him. “I don’t know,” Justin says in response, looking confused. “There’s a little [fast] — I mean. That’s what I was trying to tell you.”
“If I did, I wouldn’t tell you right now,” Justin explains. “I love you, I love you, but I won’t tell you that. It’s been a month. Hell, you must have totally reeled me in. You know what I mean?”
Justin ends the conversation by saying “I have to go” and giving June a kiss.
June isn’t bothered by Justin’s comments, and tells the cameras that he’s comfortable in their relationship. “People may think I’m moving too fast,” she says. “One, I know Justin, we were friends, we knew each other, we both needed a fresh, fresh start.”
“Justin is not like the other people before him,” she adds, explaining that she thinks it’s an equal relationship. “For once, I’m 1,000% happy. It’s really cool.”
June and Justin tied the knot at a Georgia courthouse in March.
