Laura Benanti welcomes second daughter via surrogate – see sweet first baby photo

Laura Benanti is a mother of two! The 42-year-old actress revealed on Sunday that she and her husband Patrick Brown have welcomed their second child via a surrogate.

“Please welcome to the world Luisa Georgia Benanti-Brown. We were blessed with the arrival of our second daughter on July 9 at 2:43 pm.” life and betho The actress wrote on Instagram. “Like many people, there have been many challenges in the journey of raising our family. However, our journey has been marked by the privilege of following different paths to grow our family. In particular, our remarkable surrogate (an angel-on-earth) carried our precious girl and her into our arms; an other-worldly generosity of soul, body and kindness that can never be repaid. Ella and Luisa – children of the rainbow. Rainbow sisters.”

Benanti’s post was accompanied by a photo of him and Brown’s 5-year-old daughter, Ella Rose, holding her baby sister with her finger. In the next photo, little Luisa rests on her older sister’s lap, while Ella smiles at the camera.

In her stories, Benanti shared a video of Ella pushing her younger sister in the hallway of the hospital.

The news of the actress was met with celebratory comments. “I’m so happy for you! Congratulations! Sisters!,” wrote Hilary Duff.

“Welcome back, Louisa!!!!!,” commented Stephanie March.

“Omg congratulations to you and your beautiful family,” wrote Leanne Rimes.

Benanti and Brown tied the knot in 2015, and announced that she had a miscarriage that same year. In 2017, the pair welcomed Ella. In 2017, shortly after Ella arrived, Benanti spoke to ET about her plans to juggle work and motherhood.

“We’re going to find out,” she said of the new balancing act. “I think it’s being selective. In the past I’ve said, ‘Yeah, that’s great’ which I probably won’t do now. I feel like whatever I do will be worth getting away with. Me I want to get back into my life a little bit. Of course my priority is my daughter and I want to make sure I’m raising her. I’m not planning on giving up my career anytime soon, but I’m really looking forward to my career. I want to be there for the baby too.”
