The actress’ post comes after she recently revealed she was rushed to hospital for emergency heart surgery in June. After starting to experience premature ventricular contractions, causing an abnormally fast heartbeat, La La had her son Kiyan, 14, call an ambulance, according to Self-magazine. “I’ve never felt anything like this before,” she told the outlet. “In 24 hours,” they said, “my heart was beating 30,000 more beats than the average person. “
La La was then taken for a two-hour procedure, which she described as “frightening.” “They would wake me up during the procedure and say, ‘We’re going to speed up your heart now. Take a deep breath… these doctors were so amazing, but it was a terrifying experience, ”she explained.
While she remained in the hospital for four days after the operation, La La had time to reflect on how healthy she wants her family and friends to be. “[It] Made me redefine my priorities because it’s always about everyone and work and this and that. And it’s like I’m no good, I won’t be good for anyone, ”she said. “I’m not a person who likes everyone to worry about me or adore me. I have a lot of friends and a lot of family, and they would call all day… it’s good to let people love you and care for you.
After the successful operation, La La now has heart exams at least once every two months. She hopes that by sharing her story, others will be inspired to listen to their bodies and see a doctor when needed. “I can do something with it that can really help people,” she added.
And after such a painful experience, it’s nice to see La La start celebrating her life again and posting funny snaps on her Instagram. Keep them coming, La La!
