Kirsten Storms walks away from General Hospital to focus on your health after having brain surgery. Monday, the Soap opera network announced that The storms will take a temporary leave to focus on your recovery. Storms was last seen on the July 19 episode of the daytime television drama, during which her character, Maxie Jones, left Port Charles with her baby for Texas, where she will be for the foreseeable future. ET has reached out to Storms representatives for comment, but has not yet received a response.
In June, Storms revealed that she had been suffering from some “random health problems” that led to her undergoing brain surgery. She shared details of her diagnosis and surgery to remove a large cyst, and thanked fans for their support.
“I’ve spent the last few years having random health issues that I ignored as side effects from my medications or just something I was experiencing due to age,” Storms wrote. “When I went for an MRI for a severe neck pain that I had been experiencing for the past few months (I assumed this neck pain was also causing my frequent ‘migraines’), my astonishingly thorough orthopedist ordered an MRI of my head. just to be on the ‘safe side’, although that’s not his area of expertise. Truly a great doctor. ”
“That’s when we came across a fairly large, very fluid-filled cyst that was attached to the lower part of the brain,” he continued. “I feel very fortunate that my situation was not more serious and to have a wonderful neurosurgeon who knew immediately how to fix it.”
The actress confessed that brain surgery made her nervous, but her friends, family and work relatives were very supportive and kind.
“Work is a great place to be every day and for the 2 months leading up to my surgery I felt very comfortable being around the people I have worked with for so many years,” he explained. “I’m excited to get back to that after my recovery. (Yes, I had part of my head shaved, so don’t comment if you don’t like my hair. It’s temporary).”
“Again, thank you all for sending positive vibes my way. It hasn’t gone unnoticed. ♥ ️,” he said. “Fun fact: I now firmly believe that the new plates in my brain will give me some kind of special ability. With my fingers crossed, I can suddenly knit a sweater in 1 day. Ooo maybe 1 hour. 😮”.
After clarifying that the cyst was not cancerous, Storms added that he would be “on the mend” for several weeks, before returning to work. It’s unclear when the storms will return General Hospital.
