american actor kevin spacey must pay 31 million dollars to the producer of the series House of Cardsfrom which he was fired amid a whirlwind of misconduct allegations, According to the ruling of a Los Angeles judge this Thursday.

This is the latest legal defeat for the disgraced Hollywood star in his long legal battle against the producer MRC, in charge of the renowned success of streaming.

After accusations of abuse, Kevin Spacey returns to the cinema with the film ‘1242’

Spacey starred in five seasons of House of Cards until several complaints of sexual harassment against co-workers were disclosed by the media.

“MRC was not aware of this type of conduct by Spacey with members of the show’s cast or crew,” the producer said in one of the court documents.

The production company maintains that after the complaints of sexual harassment and assault in 2017, it suspended the actor and ordered an investigation that determined that “Spacey broke stipulations in acting and executive production agreements that set standards of conduct in the workplace.including breaching MRC’s harassment policy.”

An arbitration judge ruled in October 2020 that Spacey had to pay, in addition to representation expenses, to the production company that had to redesign the series due to the departure of Frank Underwood, the main character of the series played by the two-time winner of the Oscar.

The series of palace intrigues was shortened and ended.

The actor had asked the court to invalidate the millionaire compensation, arguing that the arbitration judge incurred procedural failures when assessing the damages.

Nevertheless, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Mel Red Recana upheld the decision.ordering the actor to comply with the compensation.

Spacey denies all the accusations of harassment against him, which slowed down his award-winning career and corresponded with the emergence of the #MeToo movement, which was born from the case of the almighty producer Harvey Weinstein.

In another case last month, Spacey, 63, pleaded not guilty in a London court to sexual harassment allegations made by three men dating back more than a decade.
