Kenan Thompson (SNL and Kenan & Kel) will host the 2022 Emmy Awards

Atlanta-born comedian Kenan Thompson, 44, will host the 2022 Emmy Awards next month.

Thompson is best known for the children’s series he had with Kel Mitchell from 1996 to 2000, but also for being the longest-serving member of Saturday Night Live (SNL). Thompson has been part of NBC’s SNL since 2003. He himself was nominated for an Emmy for Supporting Actor and received a Lead Actor nomination for the comedy Kenan, which NBC canceled after two seasons.

The awards ceremony always takes place in Los Angeles and this time at the Microsoft Theater. The television rights to the Emmy Awards rotate each year between ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC, the latter of which will be responsible for this edition.
