Kelsea Ballerini Tests Positive for COVID-19 Days Before Hosting CMT Awards: ‘I’m Gutted’

The “Legends” singer revealed she may not attend the 2022 CMT Awards with co-host Anthony Mackie, but she will still virtually host and perform.

Kelsea Ballerini has tested positive for COVID-19 and will no longer host the 2022 CMT Music Awards. The superstar singer shared the disappointing news in a video shared on her Instagram on the morning of the ceremony (April 11), which she was set to co-host with the actor. Anthony Mackie,

“I can’t live in person anymore, and I’m devastated. I’m depressed. The good news is I feel a lot better,” Kelsey explained.

However, Kelsa revealed that she will still be able to host and perform virtually. “The incredible CMT family and my team have brought a part of the CMT set to my home, my bubble, and set it up where I can still host and perform. It’s definitely not what we expected and Had planned, but we are doing our best,” she said. “I will also see you at the awards tonight and let’s make some lemonade out of these very bitter lemons. I’m sorry, but there’s a lot to me if you’re going to the show, and if you’re watching on TV, I’ll see you there,” Kelsey said.

This is Kelsa’s second time hosting the CMT Awards. This year’s ceremony is taking place at the Nashville Municipal Auditorium as well as other locations around the city. artists include Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, jason aldeen, Mickey Guyton, Maren Morris, Old Dominion, even more.
