Julianne Hough Discusses Life After Divorce from Brooks Laich in NYC (Exclusive)

Julianne Hough is single in town and loves it! ET’s Lauren Zima spoke to Huff at the 75th Annual Tony Awards Sunday night about life in New York City after her divorce from Books Laich and her big Broadway debut in the Tony-nominated, potus,

“Busy,” Huff quipped about life in New York. “There are eight shows a week on Broadway. I have an incredible cast of women who have really become my family, my sisters. I’ve been so hugged and welcomed here. And I love New York, It’s so incredible. I feel like there’s a whole new energy to this next phase of life, of my career, and what I want to create and put out in the world.”

Adding, “This is where I want to be right now, so, feeling good.”

Hof, who’s hosting One hour pre-show special On Paramount+, The Tony Awards: Act One, alongside Darren Criss, told ET that it feels “incredible” to be part of the Broadway community.

“Oh my god,” Huff said aloud. “It’s totally incredible. Being a part of this Broadway community has always been something I’ve dreamed of, and the fact that I’m here the year Broadway is back and the Tony Awards are back in Radio City.” are and potus Nominated, I mean, it’s just amazing. I feel very grateful.”

As for the pre-show, Huff said it’s all about the creative actors behind some of Broadway’s biggest productions.

“Darren Criss and I are hosting The Tony Awards: Act One, which is all about the creative artists being able to really put us front and center as artists, because they are the ones who make it. So, it’s great to be able to honor them,” shared the professional dancer,

Also, the pair is performing the opening number for Sunday night’s show, which is written by Chris himself.

When asked how she handles all her hats as an actor, singer, dancer and songwriter, Huff said she does it all out of gratitude.

“Honestly, I’m very grateful. The fact that there are people who want to pay to go and see our shows, and that we can offer any kind of entertainment and relief and humor — I mean Well, I feel like I was placed on this earth to just bring joy and entertainment to people,” she said.

The 2022 Tony Awards will air live June 12 at 8 p.m. ET from Radio City Music Hall in New York City. It will be broadcast live on both CBS and Paramount+.
