MEXICO CITY.— Johnny Depp made a surprise appearance the day before Sunday at the Sheffield Town Hall in England, taking the stage to play guitar with Jeff Beck. This, after closing arguments in his libel case against his ex-wife Amber Heard were filed on Friday.
Beck, 77, who is on tour in London, released the song “Isolation” with Depp in April 2020, as a rendition of the classic John Lennon song.
On Beck’s website, Depp is referred to as the rock star’s “unexpected co-conspirator,” adding that the two “have worked together on music for a while.”
“You’ll be hearing more from Johnny and me shortly, but until then we hope you find some solace and solidarity in our version of this Lennon classic,” Beck wrote on social media.
A seven-person jury began deliberating last Friday in Depp’s ongoing trial against Amber Heard, 36, in Fairfax County, Virginia.
During his testimony, Depp talked about his music career and how he plays the guitar, as well as how becoming a musician was always his first ambition.
He is currently part of the band Hollywood Vampires, along with rockers Alice Cooper and Joe Perry.
