John Mayer says Bob Saget came to him in a dream: ‘I cried like a baby’

John Mayer recalled a vivid dream about the late Bob Saget. It was so vivid, in fact, that the dream made him tear up.

“Age of Desire” singer recalls episode during Netflix special Dirty Daddy: The Bob Saget Tribute, According to Meyer, a younger version of Saget paid him a visit in his dream, which paved the way for an opportune moment.

“The other night I had a dream and I woke up crying because I saw Bob,” he said. “Oh man, it was a young Bob, and we were about to go to a restaurant that I knew and didn’t know, and I looked at him and said, ‘You must know how much I love you.

The mayor said “young Bob” almost scoffed at saying, “Yeah, I know, right.” But the mayor didn’t have it, choosing again to tell too late full house Star, “No, I’m telling you. You must know how much I love you.”

Now awake and emotional, Meyer said he took the opportunity to say it out loud.

“I love you, Bob, but I had to go back to sleep,” Meyer continued. “And I heard him say, ‘Go to sleep, go back to sleep. You have to go back to sleep. You have to. You have stuff tomorrow.'”

Meyer and Saget’s friendship goes back nearly two decades. In fact, after Saget’s untimely death in January, it was Mayer and fellow good friend Jeff Ross who picked up the late comedian’s car from Los Angeles International Airport.

Saget’s wife, Kelly Rizzo, took to her Instagram Stories to thank Meyer and Ross for “holding me up” during this difficult time and for bringing Saget’s Toyota Prius back home.

“There are no words for how much this means to me,” Rizzo, who met Saget in 2015 and married her three years later in 2018, shared on her Instagram Story. “These two men are holding me and taking care of me (along with many other incredible people who loved my husband more than anything).”

“But these two, driving our little Prius that Bob left at the airport, home, was so solid,” he continued. “And I’m glad it gave him some time to think about Bob and share his love with everyone who sees him. The Prius is home now.”

During the Netflix special (streaming now), Rizzo also took the opportunity to pay tribute to her late husband. She got emotional remembering the support she received from her legions of fans around the world and the support of the Saget family. She also remembered how much the Comedy Store meant to Saget.

“She loved being a part of it. The most important thing for her was to belong to this club, to this group, to be a comedian,” she said. “He just loved funny people and he loved being around them. He loved everything about it and I know he’ll be so respected right now. He’ll love it. I know he’s looking down on it.” and he is very happy.”

Jim Carrey, Chris Rock, Ross and countless others in the comedy world, as well as close friends and full house Co-stars, John Stamos, all shared amazing stories during the emotional special.
