Strange things season 4 is going to be bigger than ever. Series star Joe Keery and producer / director Shawn Levy are giving fans high hopes for the upcoming fourth season of the beloved horror drama.
Levy and Keery both walked the red carpet at the premiere of Free Guy at the AMC Lincoln Square Theater in New York on Tuesday, and they spoke to ET’s Rachel Smith about what viewers can expect from upcoming episodes.
“Every time I open my mouth it gets me in trouble,” joked Levy, who also directed the action comedy. Free guy.
Despite some initial hesitation, Levy teased, “What [fans] can expect a far more epic season than the first three. “
“The reason it took a minute is, yes, COVID  – COVID protocols that protect us but slow us down – but also, this is by far the most ambitious, epic and planetary plot we have ever made, ”added Levy.
As fans of the series will recall, Season 3 ended on a cliffhanger showing a Russian prison, which led to fan theories and speculation that part of the season would take place in the USSR. .
Meanwhile, Keery – who stars in free guy alongside Ryan Reynolds, Jodie Comer, Taika Waititi and Lil Rel Howery – cheerfully explained that he had recently finished filming his scenes and that the season was going well.
“I just packed my own things, so we’re getting closer. We keep going but we’re getting there,” Keery explained. “I think it’s going to be worth the wait.”
Keery praised the show and explained why he loved being a part of the show from the start.
“It’s just the people, I like the people we do the show with,” Keery explained. “This is something that I really look forward to going back and seeing everyone and being faced with a new challenge every year.”
“When you read the scripts and see what to expect, it’s, you know, I’ll never have another experience like this,” he added. “It will be sad when this is over.”
While it’s not clear exactly when fans can expect Strange things Season 4 will debut on Netflix, Levy and Keery’s long-awaited action comedy free guy hits theaters August 13.
