Joe Coy opens up about ‘next chapter’ after split from Chelsea Handler (EXCLUSIVE)

Joe Coe had a lot to celebrate while attending the premiere of his film, Easter Sunday. The actor and stand-up comedian met with ET on the red carpet on Tuesday and revealed where he stands with his ex-girlfriend, Chelsea Handler.

When asked about getting out of a relationship and getting back into a friendship with a fellow comic, Coe said, “It’s great. It’s always been like that, so this is the next chapter.”

Talking about the support he received from Handler, Coe continued, “We are great friends and it will always be that way. I will always be the champion for her and she will always be the champion for me – and we are going to win, every.” Somebody wins.”

Last month, Chandler and Coe announced that they’re just shying away from their one-year anniversary. Handler shared the news of the couple’s unexpected split on her Instagram at the time.

“In anticipation of celebrating our first year together, Joe and I recorded this video early on, but as many of you have seen, it is with a heavy heart to announce that we have decided together that our It’s best to take a break. Our relationship right now,” Handler wrote along with the clip, which featured their fickle relationship. “I know a lot of you were so invested in our love, and I wanted to tell you how much it means to both of us.
