The actress and author opened up to ET about some stories from her recent book, 'My Unapologetic Diaries.'

Watching the wild drama behind the scenes of Dame Joan Collins dynastyWhich gave competition to the scripted drama fans saw on the screen.

The celebrated English actress and author recently sat down with ET’s Matt Cohen to discuss her new book, my unpublished diaryAnd she opened up about some high-profile feuds — both when the cameras were on and when they weren’t.

According to Collins, he and dynasty Co-star Linda Evans — who played Crystal Carrington on the megahit primetime soap — never really got along on set, which gave some authenticity to their on-screen cat fights.

“It was a very interesting relationship because Linda and I are on opposite ends of the spectrum,” shared Collins. “She loves doing her own stunts and when I first came to Hollywood I was told by Gene Kelly, ‘Don’t do your stunts yourself, darling. First, you’re putting a stunt girl out of work,’ and second , it’s dangerous. .’ So many actors have had serious problems and I know a lot of actors today who have got hip replacements and things like that because they are doing their own stunts.”

So Collins refused to shoot scenes that could put his health at risk, while Evans was adamant to do everything himself regardless of the risk.

One stunt that Collins did was the famous fight between Alexis and Crystal in a pond, where they threw each other over water while fighting.

“When you see, if you freeze the frame, I went into the water and the water was only so deep. It was really scary… and we did several takes,” she recalled. “Then, when Linda went to kill me and the director said no cut, she quickly said no cut and she pinched my chin a little bit. So it’s not acting, when you look at it.”

And it wasn’t just her co-stars that Collins eventually clashed with. As the show began one of its later seasons, Collins said she eventually negotiated a raise that put her in the same league as the series’ star, John Forsyth.

Collins said, “I felt that since I was on every magazine cover and talk show and everything, I deserved a little more.” However, getting more per episode cost her in a way she didn’t expect.

Celebrating in his trailer after the rise, he estimated the upcoming season to be in about 20 episodes

“One of the producers comes over and he says, ‘Joan, you’re only going to be in episode 10,'” she recalled. “what did I say?!’ And he said, ‘We can’t stand you!’… and I thought, That’s it, what a stab in the back!”

These tales, and many other stories from his life in front of and behind the camera, are detailed in his book, my unpublished diary — composed of Collins’ actual voice-recorded diary entries from that time in his life, and his 17th book to date.

“These diaries were never intended to be printed. These diaries, which I talked about in my little tape recorder, which I don’t think exist anymore, came after the last day dynasty,” she shared. “They weren’t apologetic because I didn’t care what I said. And sometimes I’d come back from a program, and I’d get a little drunk sometimes, sometimes, and I’d say things and I didn’t have to apologize for them because it was just me writing to myself. “
