An influential professional

Known for his concept of “poor theater”, Grotowski’s practice extends beyond the limits of conventional theater, expanding the possibilities of the human being within a context of artistic performance.

Born in Poland in 1933 and died in Italy in 1999, Grotowski created an international company in the 1960s with which he toured the world. Since his death, the institute founded by him, in the Italian city where he settled, one of his disciples, Thomas Richards was the one who continued the development of theatrical research.

A tour with support

This tour is carried out with the support of several theatrical institutions, including the National Theater Institute (INT) of Argentina, in which twelve members of the creative team of the Workcenter, from Colombia, the United States, France, Chile, Spain, Brazil and South Korea, will make presentations of their works and pedagogical activities.

The schedule that will arrive in Argentina includes the works They have! and Without Borders. The first is a one-man in Korean with Spanish subtitles in which a woman explores memories of her life. And it does so in relation to the Korean concept of They have that identifies a collective feeling of oppression in the face of insurmountable adversity, which includes three generations of women.
