‘Jersey Shore 2.0’ halts production after reboot slams original cast

Looks like there won’t be any new faces in Jersey Shore! MTV confirmed that for production Jersey Shore 2.0 have stopped. In May, the network announced that a Jersey Shore A reboot was in the works—more than a decade after the original cast first hit the boardwalk.

At the time, MTV said in a statement, “It’s been 13 years since the iconic cast Jersey Shore made their way into our lives and stole our hearts.”

“Now, the time-honored tradition continues with a new group of roommates moving into their shore house. They may have traded plumped pouts for spray tans and their poofs for UV rays, but when in Jersey When things heat up, the noise still has room to make memories throughout the summer,” the statement added.

Soon after the announcement, the show’s OGs — DJ Pauly D, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Jenny “Jevov” Farley, Vinny Guadagnino, Dina Cortez and Angelina Pivarnick — took to social media to share their Took help. The rejection followed the reboot, with the hashtag, “WeAreJerseyShore.”

“As an artist who took a chance with a network, we put our weakest moments on television for the world to see,” the statement read.

“We gave our all over the past 13 years, became a family and continue to open up our lives to the world,” he said. “So please understand that we are not in support of a version that takes advantage of our original show, our hard work and authenticity to gain audiences.”

While MTV has stopped production Jersey Shore 2.0Original cast still set to continue filming Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, Which premiered in 2018 and continues for five seasons.
