Jenna Dewan and her fiancé, Steve Kazee, are mourning the loss of their dog, Violet Mae. The actress took to Instagram on Thursday to share the sad news of the “sudden loss” of her family dog.
“Our hearts are broken today as we mourn the sudden loss of our Violet Mae. Violet was the sweetest lady I ever knew, the best furtive kisser in the world and the calm amidst chaos always. Everyone who knew you loved you and is One of the greatest privileges of my life to have had the last years with you, “said Dewan along with a series of photos with Violet.
The mother of two continued to call the bond that Violet and her fiancé shared “once in a lifetime,” before concluding the touching tribute.
“The bond that you and Steve shared arises once in a lifetime and our entire family misses you beyond words. I cling to the owl we saw on our porch last night just after your passing, being a sign of your wise and beautiful soul flying high. I love you my sweet Vi Vi 🙏🏻 “, he added.
Kazee had Violet when he was a puppy in 2012. Dewan soon adopted the dog as his own after meeting the actor and expanding his family with him. Kazee shared a heartwarming compliment to his beloved pet, calling Violet “more than a best friend” to him.
“Violet Mae Kazee 2012-2021” began. “Knowing her was loving her. She was more than a best friend to me. She was my savior. When I lost my mom, I really didn’t know how I was going to survive. Then Violet came and from the first glance we were soul mates. She was not the one. bitch I had chosen was a black lab mix named Jessie, who sadly didn’t make the trip from the Mississippi shelter. As she left the shelter disappointed that the dog of my dreams didn’t. When I got there, I saw her. In the middle of a pile of brothers and sisters who were losing their minds, as puppies often do. Not her. She just looked at me. In my soul, as only Violet could do. I knew she was the one and we never looked back. “
Kazee went on to chronicle the years he had with Violet and all the adventures they had together, noting that through good times as well as bad, she was by his side.
“The years we spent together were filled with adventure. Cross country trips, beach days, endless hikes to the Griffith Observatory and lots of hugs. She was always my true north. If you ever met Violet, and many of you have. “I know what I mean. She was truly one of a kind. She held me through some of the most difficult times of my life. She was by my side through some of the best times of my life,” he continued.
And Violet’s impact only grew when Dewan entered the picture, giving Violet sweet furry “brothers” and some humans as well.
“For many years it was just the two of us. Then the brothers came. Then a family came. She was just as amazing with Jenna, Evie and Callum as I knew she would be. Soft and gentle and always ready with a sneaky kiss on the mouth. Life will never be the same without her. Her passing was sudden and left us all in shock, but we are concentrating on the memories because they are some of my most precious ones. Violet was a good bitch. ” he stated, concluding his praise for Violet.
The couple got engaged in February 2020 just a month before welcoming their son, Callum. Dewan is also the mother of her 8-year-old daughter, Everly, whom she shares with her ex-husband Channing Tatum.
