To mark the 40th anniversary of the music icon’s first album, a new documentary about Janet Jackson will be premiered on Friday, January 28th on Lifetime and A&E. And Jackson himself gives fans an intimate, honest look at her life and untold story.
The document, simply titled Janet Jacksonin the works for five years after her debut album from 1982. The two-part, four-hour event features unseen home videos, archive footage, interviews with stars they know best, including Missy Elliott and Mariah Carey, and of course, unfiltered moments with Ms. Jackson herself.
Jackson is one of the best-selling, high-earning artists in music history, but her long career has seen personal tragedies and public attention. This authorized documentary tells Jackson’s story in her own words, addressing the scandals surrounding her famous family and the 2004 Super Bowl Halftime Show that was the subject of 2021 New York Times Presents‘Documentary, Malfunction: The Dressing Down by Janet Jackson.
