Willie Colón suffered a traffic accident in North Carolina: he is “in serious condition”

The latin singer Willie Colon and his wife, Julia, were in a car accident on the Outer Banks of North Carolina.

The salsero’s social networks published a statement detailing that the accident occurred on April 20 at 4:00 pm and it was “life threatening.”

The artist suffered serious injuries such as lacerations to the scalp that required 16 staples and the C1 cervical vertebra fracture in your spine.

Willie Colón stands “In serious but stable condition” after the accident, says the statement from the artist’s communications director, Nell McCarty.

The Colóns were pulled out of the rubble and taken to a local hospital. Mr. Colon’s condition required transportation to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, a level one trauma center, in Norfolk, Virginia,

pointed out the release.

The singer’s wife suffered lacerations and bruises that were immediately treated at Outer Banks Hospital in Nags Head, North Carolina.

Mrs. Colón was discharged; however, the singer will be transferred as soon as possible to NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital to be treated by his medical team.

Likewise, the official statement highlights that there was no other vehicle involved, but does not specify the causes of the accident.

For the moment, there is no new information about the singer’s medical condition and new official pronouncements on the matter will be awaited.
