Who is Sang-Chi, the Marvel character that will have your movie?
Also called as the “Master of Kung-Fu,” Sang-Chi was created by writer Steve Englehart and artist Jim Starlin.
This character first appeared in comics in December 1973.
Sang-Chi is a master of martial arts, who, as can be seen in the movie trailer, has practiced since he was a child.
At first, Marvel acquired the characters of Sang-Chi and Fu Manchu, the latter who was a villain and father of Sang-Chi, however they abandoned that connection, after Marvel lost the rights to Fu Manchu.
Later in his story, Sang-Chi reveals himself against his father and later joins Iron Fist, White Tiger, and Jack of Hearts.
Also, in an alliance with La Mole, he faced Hydra.
One of his most special powers is being able to duplicate himself and, in the comics, there is a time when joins The Avengers, joining forces with Black widow, Spider-man Y Nick fury.
So this is probably just the first step in continuing to grow the Marvel multiverse.
Before this film, there were two attempts to bring the character to the cinema, one in the 80s and another in 2003, however, none of them came to fruition.
