Ariana Grande is engaged! The singer announced her engagement to Dalton Gomez on Sunday, about nine months after the news broke that they were dating.
Although he has worked with top-notch buyers as a luxury real estate agent, Gomez himself has not been in the public eye. Her Instagram is even set to private, although she has made several appearances in Grande’s photos.
A source told ET in May that after several high-profile relationships, such as with Pete Davidson and Mac Miller, Grande wanted to keep things with Gomez more private. But after getting engaged, Grande couldn’t wait to share the news. “Forever and then some,” she wrote alongside a photo slideshow of Gomez and her new engagement ring.
As the couple prepare to get married, here’s what to know about Gomez:
He and Grande quarantined
In March it emerged that Gómez and Grande were a couple and had been dating for the past few months. Then in May, a source told ET that the couple’s relationship was in a “very good place” amid all that extra time together in quarantine.
“Dalton and Ariana are together in Los Angeles during the quarantine, and it has been a great opportunity for them to spend quality time together,” the source said.
He already appeared in one of his music videos
Weeks earlier, Grande introduced Gomez to fans in her music video for “Stuck With U” featuring Justin Bieber. The pop star is seen hugging, dancing and kissing Gomez at the end of the video, which was apparently her first confirmation of their romance.
Gomez also made a cameo appearance in a “Rain on Me” teaser featuring Lady Gaga.
Big is not his first famous friend
Gomez was born and raised in Southern California, and according to her biography in the Aaron Kirman Group website, has worked in luxury real estate for five years. He serves as Aaron Kirman’s sole buyer agent and has “one of the highest A-list buyer rates.”
Among them appears to be Miley Cyrus, as Gomez was spotted in an Instagram story with the singer in 2017.
It’s a great support system
In addition to helping Grande with her recent music videos, Gomez stood by Grande’s side at her August performance at the 2020 VMAs. She was featured in Grande’s compilation of photos from the event, and has been featured in Grande’s other posts on the social networks during the last months.
“I want my baby, my best friend, my favorite part of every day 🙂 I love you,” she wrote along with a sweet tribute to Gomez’s birthday in August.
Has the approval of Grande’s family
Grande’s mother, Joan, celebrated the news of her daughter’s engagement on Twitter Sunday.
“I’m so excited to welcome Dalton Gómez to our family! Ariana, I love you and Dalton so much !! For happily ever after! YAY! Xoxoxo,” she wrote, giving her stamp of approval.
