Whitney Port reveals ‘Hills’ co-star he surprisingly got close to recently

Whitney Port’s perceptions of her saws The co-stars have changed over the years! The 36-year-old reality star who appeared on The hills, its own spin-off, The city, and now the reboot, The Hills: New Beginnings, spoke about some of his most notorious co-stars during an interview on the Scrubbing with Becca Tilley and Tanya Rad podcast.

Noting that she is not “very close” with any of her co-stars, Port shared that there is one woman she has changed her mind on thanks to the reboot.

“This season I have only filmed a little bit. And I have actually had very good conversations with Heidi [Montag]”he shared.” We weren’t close before, and I think I always had preconceived notions of her because I didn’t know her personally. “I have a new appreciation for her because I feel like she completely owns who she is,” he added of Montag. “And whether this is how I would live my life or not doesn’t even matter. I feel like she doesn’t apologize for herself that I respect that.”

Port also shared that he went to high school with Montag’s husband, Spencer Pratt.

“I’ve always really liked Spencer,” he said.

As for the couple’s reputation as reality TV villains, Port doesn’t take it too seriously.

“I think they did some things that they probably regret and have grown a lot, but actually, from what I can tell, they really love each other,” she shared. “In my opinion, they were trying to make a good TV show. I think that was relatively new at the time, whereas now it’s everywhere.”

In addition to connecting with Montag, Port also revealed that she is close with her reboot co-star, Kaitlynn Carter, Brody Jenner’s ex-wife.

“I love her. I think she’s such a good and real person that I can really trust,” Port said of Carter. “We could talk outside of the show about the people on the show, and I know she wouldn’t blow my place. She’s a good person. She’s not trying to become that type of personality, and I respect that of her.”

The fashion designer recently had the opportunity to reconnect with original cast member Conrad after many years apart.

“We hadn’t talked in so long, and I always thought maybe I did something wrong to upset her, but I think it was more than her breaking away from the show because it was obviously very personal to her,” Port explained about the reunion. “So it was good for us to reconnect so that I knew there was never anything I did wrong. It was just her taking the space. So we’ll chat here and there now.”
