“The Mosquito Coast” is one of the original series in which Apple TV + has been working and is based on the homonymous novel by writer Paul Theroux, which this year celebrates its 40th anniversary of being published.

The story tells the life of Allie Fox, a brilliant inventor whose ideals have led him to be a staunch critic of consumerism, culture and the American way of life in general.

For some reasons, begins to be persecuted by the government and goes to Mexico where he begins his journey to reach the Mosquito Coast in Nicaragua and Honduras to start a new life.

Remember that this story was already adapted on some occasion in 1986 with Harrison Ford as the protagonist, now, “The Mosquito Coast” will receive a new adaptation in this drama series for Apple TV + and will consist of seven episodes with Justin Theroux taking the role of Allie Fox.

The cast complement it Melissa George, Logan Polish and Gabriel Bateman as the inventor’s family, while production is handled by Craig Ross and director Rupert Wyatt, who directed the first two chapters, which will be released on April 30.
