JLo and Alex Rodríguez have decided to end their relationship permanently. The two made a statement on the “Today” show on Thursday.
“We have realized that we are best friends and we hope to continue being so. We will continue to work together and support each other in our shared businesses and projects, ”the couple said in a statement.
“We wish each other the best and their respective children. Out of respect for them, the only other comment we have to say is thanks to everyone who has sent kind words and support, ”the statement read.
In March, strong rumors of their separation circulated on social networks but the couple quickly came out to deny them. They assured that they were working on the relationship and to verify it, ARod traveled to the Dominican Republic to be with the singer.
“They never officially parted or talked about it, but they are still together. They went through a rough patch. But they didn’t separate, ”a source close to the couple told People. “She works in the Dominican Republic and he works in Miami, so it is difficult to see each other, especially with the quarantine and COVID, but they want to try to stay together.”

López, 51, and Rodríguez, 45, began dating in early 2017 and got engaged in 2019.
The couple, known as J-Rod, got engaged in the Bahamas in March 2019 after dating for two years. Their wedding was initially planned for 2020 but due to the pandemic it had to be postponed.
Still the couple spent a lot of time during the pandemic together with their families. The couple enjoyed Lopez’s 13-year-old twins, Max and Emme, and the former MLB player’s daughters, 12-year-old Ella, and 16-year-old Natasha.
