It’s hometown time. Matt James has narrowed his group down to just four women, and on Monday night’s episode of The Bachelor, you will meet their families.
The controversy surrounding a contestant, Rachael, and host Chris Harrison continues to occur off-screen, and Matt just released a statement.
In an Instagram post on Monday, Matt called the information that has surfaced in recent weeks “concerning” and said he will share more of his thoughts “in the end.”
“The reality is that I am learning about these situations in real time, and it has been devastating and heartbreaking to put it bluntly,” he wrote. “The fact that Chris could not receive and understand the emotional work that my friend Rachel Lindsay was taking on in kindly and patiently explaining the racist from Antebellum South, a painful one that every American should immediately understand, was disturbing and painful to watch. As blacks and their allies immediately knew and understood, it was a clear reflection of a much larger problem that The Bachelor franchise has failed to adequately address for years. “
On screen, ABC has promised that there will be many “difficult” conversations this week. Rachael, Bri, Michelle, and Serena P. are left in the race for Matt’s heart, each hoping that their hometown date will take things to the next level.
