Selena: the series is covering a lot of ground in its second part. On Thursday, Netflix released the trailer for the second part of the show, which follows the life and work of Selena Quintanilla before her death in 1995, before its release on May 4.
Throughout the trailer, fans watch Christian Serratos’ Selena rise in her career, as she struggles to balance acting and recording with her marriage to Chris Perez and her relationship with her family.
At the end of the trailer, a reporter asks Selena: “When you’re gone, how do you want to be remembered?”
“Someone who wanted to be a role model, the best daughter, the best sister, the best friend, the best wife,” she replies. “I just want to be remembered as someone who gave everything.”
The second part of Selena: the series will narrate “the years of hard work and sacrifice that the Quintanilla family navigates together to become the most successful Latina artist of all time,” says Netflix.
“Now on the brink of stardom, Selena Quintanilla’s journey through the world of Tejano music continues,” says the logline. “In learning to manage her newfound success, Selena struggles to balance family, love, and a burgeoning career.”
When ET spoke with Selena’s sister Suzette Quintanilla last month, she revealed what fans can expect from the second and final part of the series, noting that it will “cover the whole spectrum.”
“This is getting to the part where Selena and Chris [Perez] they elope and get married, “he said.” That is part of our life, it is part of our family’s history. “
“It’s just a little bit of everything. It makes you feel happy and, you know, there are some sad moments and then there are some moments that I personally don’t want to visit again.” “It brings up some really weird feelings inside. So it’s just a little bit of everything.”
