It’s all good between Rachel Bilson and Rami Malek.
First boss The star shared that after the Oscar winner asked her to delete an old photo of the two on her Instagram, they have since reconnected and are “fine.”
“Rami and I have talked. Since he left, he connected with me and we are all fine,” he said in the last episode of the LadyGang podcast. “He was so sweet and we’re totally fine now, and we talk about it and we’re fine.”
In early 2019, Bilson shared a photo of her with the actor as a teenager on a school trip. She later revealed that Malek asked her to remove the photo from her Instagram account. She did and apologized but never heard from him.
“However, I was so mortified. I was having a panic attack, I had to go to therapy that day and I thought, ‘I have anxiety. I didn’t want this to resurface like this. I feel so bad.” My God, Rami’s going to think I’m doing this again and everything, ‘”he told the three presenters, before adding that they are both in a good place.
“But it actually turned out to be a good thing for a number of reasons. We were able to reconnect and do better and it was all great,” he said. “He was so kind and I totally understood where he was coming from and he understood me and I was so happy that we could squash him and move on. I totally understand and understand him. And he knew he wasn’t doing it with bad intentions.”
Bilson first shared the story last month at Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast. The actress said the two had been friends in high school and didn’t think much of posting “the dumbest photo of the two.”
“I don’t usually see my direct messages on my Instagram and maybe a week goes by, and I actually look and have a message from Rami,” recalls Bilson. “But it wasn’t like, ‘Hey! How are you?’ He went straight to, ‘I’d really appreciate it if you’d take it off. I’m a very private person.’
She added that she was embarrassed by her former classmate’s response and immediately removed it. Bilson explained that it was not the fact that he was in the photo, but rather how he looked in it.
“I guess he didn’t like the picture of himself, and I’m friends with his stylist and she said, ‘Well, it’s not a great picture of him.’ And I was like, ‘Okay, sorry!’ We were 16! years! “she said. “I deleted him and even wrote him a really nice message like, ‘I’m so sorry! Go get the Oscar! You’re doing amazing. ‘ And I never knew anything, which is fine. “
In other Bilson news, she and boss her co-star Melinda Clarke reunited for a new podcast, Welcome to the OC, bitches!, about their hit series and they interviewed for ET. During their chat, the two agreed that they would be ready to reboot.
“A reboot would be awesome,” Bilson said. “I think that is in the hands of [creators and executive producers] Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage. There’s still a long way to go, so maybe they’ll find out! That would be fun. “
