Sympathizers of the current government of India burned photographs of Rihanna, Greta Thunberg and Mia Khalifa in a protest at the statements they have made on social media.
Through Twitter, the singer, activist and model drew the attention of the international community to the protests of Indian farmers against the liberalization of agricultural markets, which have been going on for about 2 months.
why aren’t we talking about this ?! #FarmersProtest https://t.co/obmIlXhK9S

I still #StandWithFarmers and support their peaceful protest.
No amount of hate, threats or violations of human rights will ever change that. #FarmersProtest– Greta Thunberg (@GretaThunberg) February 4, 2021
Confirming I have in fact regained consciousness, and would like to thank you for your concern, albeit unnecessary. Still standing with the farmers, though ♥ ️ pic.twitter.com/ttZnYeVLRP

Following this and other posts, members of the government and the Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs accused Rihanna, Greta Thunberg and Mia Khalifa of sensationalism.
Although, at the moment, Rihanna has not commented further on this matter, both Greta Thunberg and Mia Khalifa continue to show their support for farmers.
According to the protesters, the new agricultural reforms favor only large competitors and corporations.
