Phoebe Robinson is ‘really terrified’ while taking a ropes track with Kevin Bacon

Phoebe Robinson is trying to overcome her fear of heights with the help of Kevin Bacon. In an exclusive preview of the next episode of Doing the best with Phoebe Robinson, the 36-year-old comedian asks the 62-year-old actor to teach him “how to be a person outdoors.”

After Bacon shared that being outside helps put him “in a different mental space,” Robinson admits that they enjoy hiking together and tells the actor, “I understand why you’re walking.”

However, things take a turn when they head to a ropes course and Robinson admits that he has a “fear of heights” but feels like he can “conquer it if I do it with someone by my side”.

The pair put on the harnesses and take a break from twerking, before Bacon climbs the ladder “without hesitation.”

When it comes time for Robinson to follow her, she says she’s “really terrified.” She does the climb anyway, with Bacon telling her, “I’m so impressed with you right now.”

Things don’t get any easier when she reaches the rope, as one of her hoop earrings falls off and her harness sticks “more into my vagina than my gynecomastia has ever been.” Both of these, added to his fear of heights, make Robinson jokingly exclaim, “This is the worst show ever!”

“I just want to make a deal that if I fall off this, I won’t do it again and that’s fine,” he says. “Because, you know, it’s my civil rights. Martin Luther King Jr. fought to be able to say ‘no’ to white nonsense whenever he wants.”

Although Bacon remains calm throughout the whole experience, he tells Robinson not to “make me laugh too much because I’m going to fall off this damn thing.”

As the pair continue, Robinson asks why the ropes course was invented and wonders if completing it “will give me the arms of Angela Bassett.”

He completes what he does, after peeing “a little” and congratulating Bacon for being “the perfect partner for something like this.” The couple ends their ropes adventure with a sweet hug on dry land.

Doing the best with Phoebe Robinson It is produced by Embassy Row and airs on Fridays on Comedy Central. The full episode of Bacon will air on April 16 on the network at 11 p.m. ET.
