Danielle Busby and her husband, Adam Busby, are sharing more details about their mysterious ongoing illness.
During a new interview with ET, the Outdated The stars share an update on Danielle’s current health situation, after first breaking the news about her undiagnosed illness via social media in November.
“I’m kind of on a wave and I have a lot of ups and downs and different forms of pain,” explains Danielle, who has undergone various medical tests in recent months, to ET’s Deidre Behar. “From physical aches, migraines, numbness, tingling, digestive issues, and a little bit of skin problems. It’s just a bunch of random stuff … but there’s really no identifying conclusion to this.”
“I’m looking at a possible autoimmune disease and sometimes that’s not easy to define. I just have to go through a lot of the same processes all over again, restarting different blood test routines and everything,” he continues. . “We have always lived a healthy lifestyle. I just try to really analyze food and [figure out], ‘How can I eat differently? Could that help with inflammation? Because there are certain foods that stress inflammation and everything. It’s really, ‘How do we maintain her pain level and what is she going through until we can figure out what the underlying problem is?’ “
Danielle has also prioritized her mental health these days, telling ET that she often draws on her love of fitness and inner spirituality to “help keep my state of mind aligned.”
“It can explode in waves,” he shares. “You can get stressed very easily in this house. With fitness, which is always a mental blocker for me, I can tune out and stuff. That’s something I always try to maintain, and then just my spirituality.”
Also, having Adam by her side during this difficult time has definitely been a great help.
“Honestly, this process has been difficult,” Adam explains, seeing Danielle frustrated at times. “Just because we don’t really know what’s going on, and I’m just trying to support her through the process and encourage her to the best of my ability. But also just trying to take most of the weight and burden of daily chores around the house. Parenting, and stuff, just so she can relax a bit. “
“Just doing what she can with the kids and getting the kids out of the house, so she can have a day to do whatever she wants to do, or just relax in bed, if it’s a day that hurts her,” he keep going. “So just supporting her whenever I can. Just being there to talk and hang out.”
During another part of the interview, Adam and Danielle also discuss what it’s been like filming season 8 of Outdated, which features her 9-year-old daughter, Blayke, and 5-year-old quintuplets Ava Lane, Olivia Marie, Hazel Grace, Riley Paige, and Parker Kate.
“I think the reaction has been excellent,” says Adam. “We have done some episodes where we have featured several children in the episodes. [We’ve] I went back and they looked at old pictures, they highlighted their personalities and stuff, and those are our favorites because they’re so nostalgic for us and stuff. Just to go back and relive those memories, it’s been amazing. “
“It’s really surreal, honestly,” he adds, to see his family on television. “I always catch [myself] in the moment and realizing, ‘What’s really going on in the house right now? My kids are sitting on the couch, watching themselves on TV. ‘ That’s crazy “.
As for how much longer do they realistically watch the show? “I don’t know. I mean, it’s been a part of our lives, and our team is our family,” says Danielle. “It’s just, ‘When is the break? When are we going to get off this? When are we going to pick up?’ We just go season after season to adjust and say, ‘What do we have to do differently? Do we want to continue?’ “.
“After every season, it’s a great real-life evaluation,” adds Adam. “At the end of this season, it’s like, ‘What is this going to look like in the future? What’s next?’ I mean, we’re still not 100 percent sure. “
However, one thing they know for sure is that Danielle will not give birth to any more children. “I had a hysterectomy a year and a half ago,” says Danielle. “There is no more, but if we ever want a little boy, we just go find those two nephews of ours, we have them for a day and we say, ‘Enough is enough.’
“We never completely close the door on adoption,” adds Adam. “If, for example, something got in our way and pressed on our hearts, that we needed to help, we never closed the door on that. But when it comes to having children of our own, it is practically impossible right now.”
