Oprah Winfrey is ready to interview Meghan Markle and Prince Harry!
CBS announced Monday that Oprah will sit down with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to Oprah with Meghan and Harry: a CBS primetime special, an intimate and comprehensive conversation that will air on March 7. Meghan, 39, will first talk to Oprah about her decision to resign as high-ranking members of the royal family, her marriage, motherhood, philanthropic endeavors and how she is managing life under intense public pressure.
The two will be joined by Harry, 36, and they will talk about his decision to move to the United States, his future, and expanding his family. This is the couple’s first televised interview since their engagement.
The news comes a day after Meghan and Harry announced that they are expecting their second child together.
“We can confirm that Archie is going to be a big brother,” the couple said in a statement issued on Valentine’s Day. “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are delighted to be expecting their second child.”
The couple is already the father of their son, Archie, whom they welcomed in May 2019. The two have been married since May 2018.
Additionally, a palace spokesperson shared with ET that members of Harry’s royal family are excited about the news, saying, “Your Majesty, [the] Duke of Edinburgh, [the] Prince of Wales and the whole family [are] I’m delighted and I wish you the best. “
In November, Meghan revealed that she suffered a miscarriage over the summer in an op-ed for The New York Times. In it, she wrote that in the midst of her own loss, she and Harry learned how common miscarriages are, prompting her to speak up in an effort to encourage others to do the same.
Meanwhile, Oprah is friends with the couple for a long time. She attended his wedding and is one of his neighbors in his neighborhood of Montecito, California. The media mogul is also working with Harry on a mental health documentary series for Apple TV +.
