Nick Jonas Presents Debut Live Performance Of ‘Spaceman’ And ‘This Is Heaven’ On ‘Saturday Night Live’

Nick Jonas killed Studio 8H. The singer delivered the debut performance of two new solo songs on Saturday night live weekend.

Jonas did double duty as a musical guest and host, and used his time to introduce fans to his new solo work.

For his first set of the night, Jonas took the stage for a performance of “Spaceman” backed by a light show, which he just launched on Thursday.

Opting for a retro-techno aesthetic, Jonas sang the ballad with the help of his backing band and loads of creative laser lights.

For his second set, the singer was introduced by his brother, Kevin Jonas, who also performed a large part of his monologue earlier in this episode.

Jonas donned a red suit, shirtless, as he sang the new romantic tune “This Is Heaven” and showed off his angelic voice.

Jonas recently talked about his new music and said that all the songs from his latest solo album, Astronaut, are actually love letters to his wife, Priyanka Chopra Jonas.

“She loves it. Most of the songs are basically love letters, that when I can’t articulate what I feel with my words without music, I go to the studio,” Nick said. Zane Lowe from Apple Music. “And I’m grateful to have that because it makes her happy, and that’s the most important thing.”

Voice’s coach says their next album, out March 12, is “inherently hopeful,” especially after a year like 2020. Watch the video below to hear more.

Saturday night live airs live from coast to coast at 11:30 pm ET, 8:30 pm PT on NBC.
