It has been a heartbreaking year for Ryan Dorsey and his son, Josey. The 5-year-old boy went boating with his mother, actress Naya Rivera, last summer when Rivera first disappeared and was later found dead in Lake Piro several days later.
On Thursday, Dorsey shared a sweet photo of her little dress with Carolina Panthers merchandise.
“Shout out to @panthers and @sirpurr for sending us a sweet Christmas swag. We really appreciate it,” Dorsey began with her message. “This boy … man … couldn’t be more proud of someone. At such a young age, he has endured more than anyone should at 5 years old.”
Referencing the Panthers motto, Dorsey added: “Without even fully realizing it, live the mantra #keeppounding every day with your stamina. You are so strong, so brave and so kind. I will always be proud of you and always #maintain because that’s all we can do. ”
He concluded his post in hopes of inspiring others who struggled throughout 2020.
“For all of you who had a difficult 2020 … you will never forget it, we think about it every day and I feel for you and vibrate with you on that frequency,” he shared. “I hope you find some way to move on with your days, to persevere, no matter how difficult it is. All the ❤️. #Maintenance 🖤”.
Following Rivera’s death, Josey has moved in with Dorsey full time. the Joy The star’s sister, Nickayla, also lives with the family to help out with Josey.
Earlier this month, on what would have been Rivera’s 34th birthday, Dorsey shared a sweet family photo and wrote, “As surreal as it is real that you are gone. If that makes sense, but none of this still makes sense. ..34..I could hear you say “Ah, now I’m the old AF!” Ha … Rest easy old lady … ❤️ 💫 🖤💫❤️ “.
