Natalie Dormer is a mom! The game of ThronesThe star secretly welcomed her first child with partner David Oakes in January.
Dormer shared the news about friend Esther Rantzen. That’s after life podcast.
“It’s the perfect thing to do during a pandemic: get pregnant, have a baby,” joked the actress. “I feel like I’m probably being a bit of a cliché, she’ll probably be sitting in a bar 30 years from now one day saying, ‘Yeah, I’m a COVID baby.’
For now, Dormer said her baby is an “absolute joy.”
“It is only three months old and it is an absolute joy, I will never complain about the hours of filming because the lack of sleep is something else,” he shared. “People say, ‘Your whole perspective on life will change, and your whole value system,’ and you roll your eyes and say ‘Yes, yes’, and then you have one and you say, ‘Oh. Wow!’ “
“I’m in love. I’m absolutely in love, she’s a joy. Sleep has always been very important to me, that’s the only downside, but you know that nature is so smart, hormones kick in,” she continued.
Dormer, known for playing Anne Boleyn in The Tudors and Margaery Tyrell in game of ThronesShe said she thought working in film or television might be a challenge with a baby, so she hopes to find work in the theater.
“People in the industry that I’m in rely on babysitters and they do it for a reason so they can take the kids with them,” he said. “But, I mean for me, this is the perfect time to get back on stage, because then I could be with her all day.”
“But with COVID, who knows when it will happen. I really feel sorry for our theaters across the country, there are tough times,” he noted.
